Release Round Up - September 3rd
Every Friday there is a tidal wave of new music released unto the world. Whilst we try to cover as much as possible here at The Razor's Edge, it's not always possible to review everything. So each week on a Friday we'll round up some of the best new music available, some we've reviewed, some we haven't, but all worth checking out!
Theres a lot of new heavy music hitting the airwaves this week, everything from black metal, death metal, gothic metal, Stoner rock, doom, thrash metal and even some of your traditional heavy fuckin' metal!
Here's what we think you should check out today!
The big releases of the week is obviously Iron Maiden's Japanese themed 'Senjutsu'. The long awaited seventeenth studio album from the kings of British heavy metal.
Following the lackluster previous album 'Book of Souls' and the disappointing 'Nights of the Dead, Legacy of the Beast' live album which did not live up to the bands previous live releases; it is hoped by us all that 'Senjutsu' is a return to form for the boys!
Bokassa coined the term stoner-punk and then performed in stadium's across Europe alongside Metallica. Now they release album number three 'Molotov Cocktail' on Napalm Records.
"The songs are anthemic, raucous and hard-hitting. There is no shortage of melody, with their harmonious choruses bringing a softer side."

Kings of British rock The Wildhearts return with brand new album '21st Century Love Songs' on Graphite Records this week.
"The Wildhearts are still wrapping it up in that belligerent attitude, with the big “fuck you” still front and centre."

The doomy tones of Embr ring out on a new E.P. '1021' this week released as part of New Heavy Sounds 10th anniversary series.
"The E.P. kicks off and delivers a barrage of noise from the outset."

"It’s mainly traditional metal feel is broken up with other styles such as power, thrash and a little doom, to keep the tracks feeling fresh."
