Every Friday there is a tidal wave of new music released unto the world. Whilst we try to cover as much as possible here at The Razor's Edge, it's not always possible to review everything. So each week on a Friday we'll round up some of the best new music available, some we've reviewed, some we haven't, but all worth checking out!
Theres a lot of new heavy music hitting the airwaves this week, everything from black metal, death metal, gothic metal, Stoner rock, doom, thrash metal and even some of your traditional heavy fuckin' metal!
Here's what we think you should check out today!
The big album of the week is the new solo offering from Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge). His new album 'The Ides of March' highlighting the mans many musical talents.
"The focal point is the majestic voice of Kennedy, his vocal the real driving force behind this album."

German metalcore veterans Caliban switch things up this week with their 11th album, 'Zeitgeister' released on Century Media.
"The gravelly delivery of the German language fitting so well with the punishing riffing that this album delivers. Proving that even this far into a career, the band can produce fresh, relevant music for todays metal fan!"

Of all the NWOBHM bands, Raven were the ones that really should have burst through the net and conquered all before them, and this week they re-issue the classic album 'All For One'.
"The album opens with the potent combination of ‘Take Control’ and ‘Mind Over Metal’, bonafide classics to this day and it’s easy to see with this duo why they went down a storm in the US with Metallica supporting them in 1982."

The good folk at Heavy Psych Sounds team High Reeper and Hippie Death Cult up for split E.P. 'Doom Sessions Volume 5', released this week.
"These two have delivered five new kick ass songs between them, and I have just added another two bands to my “must see live” list."

Italians Celtic Hills return with their sophomore album 'Mystai Keltoy', released this week on Elevate Records.
"Badged as a cross of thrash and death metal, I’d be far more inclined to stick the power label tag on Celtic Hills because that’s exactly the sound that they have captured... big, bombastic, and impressive with soaring guitar solos, imposing, anthemic vocals and an overall sound that demands your attention."

Maryland based thrashers Crawling Manifest drop a beast of an album in 'Radical Absolution' this week.
"The overwhelming triumph of this record are the quality of riffs. They come thick and fast and we are never far away from a fresh one."

The Monolith Deathcult release the third of their 'V' series trilogy this week. 'V3 - Vernedering: Connect The Goddamn Dots' is an industrial death metal offering.
