Two More Bands Added To Damnation Festival
US death metal veterans Incantation and English poetic rock outfit 40 Watt Sun are the latest names to be added to this year’s Damnation line-up.
The duo will join a bill that already boasts headline sets from Ministry and Converge as well as a UK exclusive performance of At The Gates’ Slaughter of the Soul.
Incantation, who were forced to pull out of the 2021 event, will play an extreme stage which will also features sets by the likes of Pig Destroyer, Despised Icon and Full of Hell.
While 40 Watt Sun’s emotionally-charged, songs of introspection will add another dimension to Eyesore Merch’s doom and post-rock stage featuring Elder, Pallbearer, We Lost the Sea, Green Lung and Bell Witch and Aerial Ruin collaboration, Stygian Bough.
Incantation said:
“We are looking forward to finally returning to the UK in November and are so ready to kick your ass with some death metal.
“See you all at Damnation.”
While 40 Watt Sun’s Patrick Walker said:
“This November, I'm very grateful to be bringing 40 Watt Sun to Damnation for the third time, where, along with my band, I shall be performing songs old and new.
“To Gavin and the team, thank you again for welcoming me."
Organiser Gavin McInally said:
“To have a band like 40 Watt Sun, who play live so rarely, return to Damnation for a third appearance is a huge privilege. Just make sure you pack the tissues as it’s bound to be an emotional experience.
“While being able to secure Incantation, following the disappointment of losing all the Americans last year, is also a huge addition to our outrageous line-up.”
Bands announced so far for Damnation, which will take place at BEC Arena in Manchester on Saturday November 5 are: Ministry, Converge, At The Gates, Pig Destroyer, Destruction, Wolves In The Throne Room, Despised Icon, Elder, Pallbearer, Full of Hell, 40 Watt Sun, Incantation, Green Lung, We Lost The Sea, Toxic Holocaust, Stygian Bough and Irist, with more bands to be added.
