Release Round Up - June 11th
Every Friday there is a tidal wave of new music released unto the world. Whilst we try to cover as much as possible here at The Razor's Edge, it's not always possible to review everything. So each week on a Friday we'll round up some of the best new music available, some we've reviewed, some we haven't, but all worth checking out!
Theres a lot of new heavy music hitting the airwaves this week, everything from black metal, death metal, gothic metal, Stoner rock, doom, thrash metal and even some of your traditional heavy fuckin' metal!
Here's what we think you should check out today!
Wolfgang Van Halen releases his lauded Mammoth WVH solo album this week.

Max Cavalera and son Igor team up for a killer new project Go Ahead and Die who release their debut album this week via Nuclear Blast.

You wanted the best, you got the best! KISS release the first of a new series of live recordings this week; 'Off The Soundboard: Tokyo 2001'.

Neon Christ, featuring William DuVall of Alice in Chains, release '1984' this week. A compilation of older recordings long out of print from 1984 re-issued via Southern Lord & DVL Recordings.

Doom supergroup Grief Collector drop a new album this week, and we bring you not one but two reviews of it!
Matt says: "The beat is like a steamroller, flattening all before it, and the riffs from Matt Johnson are killer, allowing the song to flow effortlessly, whilst the vocals are atmospheric, and feel like poison being injected into your veins."
Jon's thoughts: "Traditional in its feel with occasional flashes of modern technique, it combines crushing riffs with atmospheric drums and vocals perfectly and the result is superb."

Chilean traditional heavy metal outfit Lucifer's Hammer bring you a havey slab of new music today with 'The Trip'.
"The band know what they like and like what they do. Think Grand Magus, Maiden, Priest etc. and you’ll be in the right ballpark. The riffs are in all the right places, the tempo is dramatic, powerful, and the band’s playing is solid."
